The first Francis Holland School was established in 1878 by the Canon Reverend Francis Holland, chaplain to Queen Victoria and King Edward VII. An innovator in his day, Francis Holland was committed to the advancement and provision of education for girls. This spirit of innovation and advancement lives on in the Trust today.

The Francis Holland Schools Trust comprises of three leading independent girls’ schools in two central London locations. The trust provides financial stability through a shared Bursary and a Board of Governors known as The Council. While each school has its own vision and ethos, the Trust’s overarching commitment is to nurture pupils’ potential, develop resilience and help them become fulfilled adults who will make a positive difference in a fast-changing inter-connected world. The Trust are seeking a new Director of Estates and Facilities to lead our estates and facilities function, this  key leadership role within the trust to ensure we have a high quality learning environment. You will play a hands-on role in the day-to-day operational running of the department.

Whilst previous education experience is not required, an understanding of schools’ management would be beneficial. Candidates will bring an in-depth knowledge of estates, facilities and health and safety best practice. You will enjoy building strong and credible relationships with other leaders. The role will suit a diplomatic individual who can confidently advise senior leaders, on complex estates issues and who is also happy to be hands-on with the day-to-day tasks of the department.

Statutory checks including a satisfactory DBS certificate and references will be a requirement for this role. This role is classed as regulated activity with children as it involves working within the school on a day-to-day basis with regular and frequent opportunity for contact with children and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, 1974.
