K2: Planting sunflowers - K2 have recently planted their own sunflower seeds. Over the coming weeks, the students will be monitoring their development. Soon we will have 13 beautiful sunflowers,
Y2: Reading with - Year 6 Year 2 students have had the wonderful opportunity to engage in reading sessions with their older counterparts from Year 6. This unique interclass reading partnership has not only fostered a sense of connection and friendship among the students but has also proven to be a valuable learning experience for all involved.
Y4: Signs and symbols - Year 4 went on a Sign & Symbols hunt around the school to tune into their new Unit about Signs and Symbols. The students were very excited to find so many different signs and symbols on the inside and outside of the building, the secondary science lab and the canteen!
Y6: Vocabulary in action - Year 6 have been developing simple but effective strategies to boost their vocabulary and improve their comprehension skills. Through interactive discussions, and the use of reference books, they are enhancing their diction which is having a positive influence on their verbal and written communication skills.
MY: Mathematics update - We have been enjoying our math classes this term. In Year 7/8, students have been learning how to plot and graph the slope of a line while the Year 9/10 class has been learning about linear systems. In Year 11 the students have been working on probability and the rules that apply to mathematical decision making.

Welcoming Mr. Thomas, Y6 and PYPCO

Mr. Thomas is an avid reader who really enjoys classic literature, fictionalised biographies and suspense novels. As a former chef he enjoys learning new recipes and experimenting with new ingredients. He is also very enthusiastic about performing arts and is excited to attend local cultural performances that showcase the rich artistic heritage of the community.

Languages at UDIS - English (Liza)

Our EAL Learners have been getting to know each other during the past week. We shared some simple information about ourselves and we were able to ask lots of questions using the 5 Ws (Who, What, Where, When and Why).
