UDIS NEWSLETTER ISSUE #1

Preschool/K1: Routines and Environment - We have started our year with developing routines and expectations. Learners have been good communicators and caring towards our classroom environment and their peer friends. Stay tuned for more through our Toddle observations!
Y1: Starting our new UOI - In Y1, we have dedicated our time to studying various elements from our school and some of the IB components, such as Learner Profiles and the Inquiry Cycle. We are eager to commence our Unit of Inquiry next week, where we will inquire about balanced lifestyles. The first two weeks of PY were dedicated to preparation, and we are now almost ready to embark on this exciting journey!
Y3: Working together - During the first few days in Year 3, we had fun doing activities to become a better team and make new friends. One cool thing we did was a contest where we worked together in teams to make glasses using three pieces of paper and some tape. It was a creative challenge that helped us work and have fun together! Here’s the result!
Y5: Hosting our first assembly - Welcome back to UDIS. We hope your child has had a stress free move into the Year 5 class. This week we have been preparing for our assembly by creating individual slide shows and practising our public speaking skills. Next week we will start our unit of inquiry, which is focused on what our beliefs and values are and how that makes us behave in certain ways
MY: Fantastic community support - UDIS would like to thank the Department of Pathology at the Phramongkutklao College of Medicine in Bangkok for donating several preserved specimens of human structures. These will be valuable resources for helping our MY and future DP students better understand the organisation and function of these structures. We look forward to our continued collaboration and partnership with the Phramongkutklao College of Medicine.

Student success at UDIS: Nisha in K1

Nisha has made a great start to school and has been really mindful of others and adapted well to our circle time routines. She has been a good role model since we have come back to school. Well done Nisha!

Thai at UDIS: Welcome back!

Welcome back to the Thai class for the new school year, and congratulations to all learners who have advanced to the next level. We are pleased to observe all learners' enthusiasm to acquire new topics in Thai class, as well as their enjoyment of learning the Thai language and activities to celebrate Thai Mother’s Day.

School Board: We need a new parents rep

We are looking for a new parents representative for our School Board. The School Board oversees the operations of the school and our parent representatives provide advocacy for our school parents while providing a safeguarding contact for concerns. If you would like to be considered, please contact our school office.
